Pastor Herbert Lee, Jr.

Rev. Hebert Lee, Jr. was born in Liberty, Mississippi where he grew up working on the farm with his father and siblings. In 1968 Rev. Lee moved to Chicago, IL. Rev. Lee is a committed husband, and father of three.
He began working in the local meat packing industry when he moved to Chicago; he experienced success in this industry because of his business skills, as well as his ability to motivate people. Rev. Lee was known as a committed and passionate leader.
The commitment, passion and dedication Rev. Lee was known for in his personal life as well as in the business world has most certainly transitioned to his church administration. Rev. Lee was called to Pastor New Progressive Missionary Baptist Church in 1998.
Pastor Lee's commitment to furthering the kingdom of God, and building up the members of New Progressive MBC, has certainly been demonstrated through his love for God, and his dedication to the people of God.
There is a special place in his heart for the youth of the church! He recognizes the need for youth, and works to engage them as future leaders of the church. When asked how he’s able to manage the enormity of being a pastor, he quotes Psalm 121: 1-2 “ (1)I will lift mine eyes to the hills, from whence cometh my help. (2) My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.”
