Mitchell E Samuels, Jr.
Mitchell was born raised in Chicago, IL. He accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age at New Progressive Missionary Baptist Church.
While growing up in the church, Mitchell was an active member of Sunday school, BTU, vacation bible school, and a member of the junior usher board.
Mitchell is a graduate of Thornton Township High School, and DePaul University. During his time in High School, Mitchell began to consider what it truly meant to have a closer walk with the Lord. It was in 2001 when he accepted his call to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. It was on November 11th 2001 when he preached his first sermon.
Mitchell is married to his beautiful wife Nakia Samuels with two children; Ethan and Nathan. He has been serving in the role of associate minister over the past several years.
In addition to serving and supporting the Pastor he is working in the following roles: youth director, a Sunday school teacher for the Inteen class, a member of Dr. Elzie Young scholarship committee, and director of programs and criteria for the development of the Dr. Elzie Young Community Center (YCC).
Currently, until the Lord calls him a higher level, he works at JP Morgan Chase as a International Implementation Project Manager; he has been in the banking/finance industry for 10 years working in the capacity of Operations Manager, Organizational Development Manager, and Business Analyst Manager. He is a certified project manager, receiving his advanced project management certification from DePaul University School of continuing and professional education.
Mitchell’s focus has been on urban youth; working to support and encourage urban youth to become better than the environment they may live in. He recognizes the calling on his life to server supporting the members of the community where he worships.
