Rev. Kevin Hines
Kevin was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He accepted Christ and baptized at the early age of nine while a member of Manual Memorial Baptist Church. In 1974, he united by letter with New Progressive Missionary Baptist Church.
Although he had accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior, it was not until one Friday in the spring of 1978, that he realized who Jesus was and what He really meant to him.
As he became active as a youth of New Progressive, he was a participant in the Sunday School, BTU, Youth Usher Board, Bethlehem Baptist District Youth Department, Vacation Bible School, and many activities of the church.
In 1982, he proceeded to continue his education at Lewis University were he continued to uphold Christian values, holding various offices of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Black Student Union, Greek Council, Lewis University Gospel Choir, and participated in many school and community service projects upon graduating in 1988.
In 1990, he began to seek a closer walk with the Lord. He joined the Adult C Sunday School Class, attend bible study on a regular basis, and was an original member of the Young Adult Missionary Activist Group. He then Senior Usher Board and was elected treasurer until joining the Deacon board and accepting his call to preach the gospel.
On October 14, 2001 he preached his first sermon proclaiming the gospel to the lost. On November 12, 2006 he was issued his certificate of Ordination as a Gospel Preacher in the state of Illinois.
He continues to serve the New Progressive Missionary Baptist Church in the capacity of associate minister. Rev Hines is a graduate of The Chicago Baptist Institute and is the 1st Vice Moderator in the Bethlehem Baptist District Association.
